The 2025 Cragg Vale calendar is now available so tell your friends and get your copies in time for Christmas.
The theme for 2025 is "Cragg Vale - a Jewel in the Pennines" which will look at some of the facets that make our lovely village such a gem!
(Still) Priced at £6 each, copies can be obtained from our usual outlets - Mytholmroyd Post Office, Robin Hood, St. John's Church, Hinchliffe Arms and Craggies Farm Shop, or you can email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
Even though the 2025 calendar is now finalised, we're always on the lookout for pictures that showcase our lovely valley, so If you have any scenic, interesting or even quirky shots of the area, we'd love to see them, and possibly use them in future calendars. Just send them through to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., and any that get used for the main shots in the calendar will earn a complimentary copy.
By the way - If you're out and about taking photos, please try and take them in landscape format so we don't lose any detail when cropping them to fit.
A big "THANK YOU" to everyone who supported the production, from those who submitted photos of our lovely area, to our fab sponsors and retail outlets, and to everyone who is now the proud owner of one (or more) of our calendars.
Sponsorship comes from some of our super local businesses, which covers print costs, and allows all proceeds to be recycled into community projects, so in return we'd ask you to "think local, shop local" as a healthy local economy is to everyone's benefit.

The Community Hubbub has had to amend its opening times for November and December.
It will open Tuesdays only from 2pm to 5pm. This will be renewed for the new year.
Background for the Hubbub
St John's Church has opened its doors even wider, serving up a warm welcome to everyone in the community, by hosting the Community Hubbub.
Since Sunday 18th December 2022, the church has been providing a social venue for anyone and everyone to gather for a chat, to relax, have a bite to eat (hot food), to play (table tennis, books, toys & jigsaws for all ages) or help with some of the craft activities as we create our "celebrating Cragg Vale" exhibition.
It's all free, as its grant supported by Hebden Royd Town Council, and there's even free transport available via the Community Transport Service - contact Marianne (885224 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) if you need a lift or know someone who may need help to get to the church.
Hubbub usual opening times for November/December are:
Tuesdays - 2.00 to 5.00pm
A big "THANK YOU" to everyone who has visited so far, we hope you enjoyed the experience, and will come again, and tell your friends and neighbours !
Other sites will also be open in the valley, some on other days - see Hebden Royd Town Council for details http://hebdenroydtowncouncil.gov.uk/news/2022/375.html
Questions and Answers:
Q. Hubbub - what is it ?
A. As explained above, its a community facility, held in St John's Church, where people can meet, have something to eat and drink. A bit like a pub, only no alcoholic drinks, but it is all free
Q. Can anyone come ?
A. Of course. It's an open door facility, so everyone is welcome, whether local residents or visitors to our lovely area, young or old, but for safeguarding reasons, children must be accompanied by an adult
Q. Can I help ?
A. Yes please ! Were always looking for volunteers who can spare some time to help out. Come along to one of the sessions and say hello to one of the existing volunteer team. You don't have to stay for the full session, help with any of these areas would be appreciated:
- Help at the end of the Tuesday session to put things away to make the space ready for the Sunday morning church service – probably an hour (max) from around 4.30pm
- General help in the hall: welcoming visitors to the Hubbub, encouraging people to make use of whatever there is in the hall, help themselves to tea and coffee etc – an hour (or longer) at any time during the Tuesday sessions
- Help preparing food – either in own home or in the kitchen at the church NB: all costs will be reimbursed for any food bought or we can buy food in advance
- Help in the kitchen serving food (from an hour or more if time can be spared)
- Help in the kitchen with cleaning surfaces and washing up of things that can’t go in the dishwasher – usually towards the end of a session, therefore around 4.30 on a Tuesday
if you think you can help in any way at all, you can pop your name down on the rota (click on the link) so we know who is coming to help at different sessions
